Facebook Settlement Payout Has Begun: Check your Payout Amount 

The Facebook user privacy settlement payout distribution process has begun; the valid claimants can expect the payment to hit their accounts. If you have filed the claim for the Facebook settlement and are waiting for the payment, here’s some great news for you.

On 3 September 2025, the Facebook User Privacy settlement administrator updated on the website that they have commenced the settlement benefit distribution. The settlement payment distribution will go on for 10 weeks from the court order of 27 August 2025. 

The claimants will receive the email before the payment is processed, so if you receive any email with the subject line – Facebook User Privacy Settlement Distribution Update, do not delete the email. The email will have information about your Facebook settlement claim status and your payment expected date. 

According to the users’ posts on social media, most of the users who have selected the electronic method have already received the payment. The claimants received their payout in 3 to 4 business days after they got the email. So, be patient, if you have not received your payment yet, and keep an eye on your email.

How much payout will you receive under the Facebook settlement?

The Facebook settlement has $725 million in funds, which were first used to cover the attorney fees & costs, administrative expenses, and service awards to class representatives, and then the rest of the funds were used to compensate the class members with valid & approved claim forms. 

The net settlement fund will be used for the authorized claimants’ payment, which depends on how many years you were a Facebook user during the class period, 24 May 2007, and 22 December 2022, in the United States. 

So, the payout amount may vary for every user; however, based on the court estimate, the payout will range from $4.89 to $38.36. The administrator determines your settlement payment based on the points for each month you had an active Facebook account during the class period.  

The value of points is divided by the net settlement amount to determine the payout amount. According to users’ posts on social media, most of the users who have received the payout have received payment of around $29 or $38 for Facebook, using their data without their consent.

What if your digital payment has expired or is unsuccessful?

With the settlement payment through digital means – Venmo, PayPal, ACH, or Zelle, there are some things that you should keep in mind, such as:

  • You must accept the PayPal/ Venmo payment within 30 days of issuance and enroll with Zelle within 14 days of the payment notification. You can solve the issue of electronic payment (Venmo/PayPal/Zelle/ ACH Payment) expiration and unavailability in the following way:
  • You will get a second chance to get your payment, where you will need to update your payment method. 
  • You will receive the second chance email after 50 days of the initial electronic payment issuance. 
  • The virtual prepaid card will expire within 24 months of issuance, and if you do not use the payment within that time, you can request a new card by calling the cardholder at 1844-340-1929. 

What if your settlement check was damaged or ruined?

Now, the Facebook settlement claimants who have selected the physical check payment method to receive the compensation. You guys have to wait for the payment to arrive, as the distribution has begun recently. 

However, if you face a problem like a damaged or lost cheque, or your name has changed, you can take the following actions to tackle the situation:

  • If your payout check is lost or damaged, you can contact the administrator within 30 days of the check issuance to reissue the check and get your entitled payment. 
  • If your name has changed and you cannot cash your physical check, you can reach out to the administrator with proper documentation on your name change, such as a court order, a marriage certificate, etc., to get it reissued. 

You can submit a reissue request for a physical check in both cases at the settlement administrator’s email address, info@facebookuserprivacysettlement.com, and solve your problem related to the settlement check.

The Facebook settlement payout on the user privacy settlement has finally begun after a long wait, and it will run till 05 November 2025 as per the 10-week deadline. The US Facebook users who have filed the claim form should be attentive towards their email inbox, as within 3-4 business days of the email, you will receive your payment.
