GST/HST Credit in October 2025: Canadian Are Going To Get Upto $358.50!

The CRA is all set to release the Goods and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax credit in October 2025 for all its residents. The payment is all set to be sent out on the 3rd of the month, and direct deposit will be revised shortly, and paper checks will take a week.

If you are among those who receive the GST/HST credit quarterly, note that the payment to you will be received on time without any delay. From July 2025 to June 2026, the payment rate has been revised. You will get the same amount that you got on July 4, 2025.

Who will get this payment?

The CRA is going to send the October 2025 GST/HST credit to all those Canadians who meet the eligibility requirements:

  • Are a permanent resident of Canada,
  • Have filed income tax in 2024-25,
  • Have a valid social insurance number,
  • Have turned at least 19 years old, and
  • Meet the income threshold.

The income threshold to receive the GST/HST credit is given inside the tables below.

If your income exceeds the above threshold, you won’t get any amount. Go through the table below to check the income threshold on which you can get the maximum payment.

How much can I get?

The Canada Revenue Agency has disclosed the maximum payout for July 2025 to June 2026. A single individual can get up to $349 annually; if you are married, as a couple you are eligible to get up to $698.

Note that additionally, there is $184 for each qualifying child. If you are married and have a child, you can get up to $882 in a year—and the quarterly payment will be only $220.5.

The table available below helps you to understand the payment you can get annually and quarterly in different conditions.

Ontario Trillium Benefit December 2025 Payment: What Eligible Residents Can Expect
Family TypeChildrenMaximum Annual CreditQuarterly Payment (x4)
Single individual0$349$87.25
Single parent1$349 + $184 = $533$133.25
Single parent2$349 + 2×$184 = $717$179.25
Single parent3$349 + 3×$184 = $901$225.25
Single parent4$349 + 4×$184 = $1,085$271.25
Married/common-law0$349 + $349 = $698$174.50
Married/common-law1$698 + $184 = $882$220.50
Married/common-law2$698 + 2×$184 = $1,066$266.50
Married/common-law3$698 + 3×$184 = $1,250$312.50
Married/common-law4$698 + 4×$184 = $1,434$358.50

The quarterly payment amount mentioned above will be received based on your family type; if you exceed the income threshold, your payment amount reduces.

Note that the payout is reduced by 5% of excess AFNI over the full credit limit. Let’s understand it by an example—you are single with a qualifying child, and your AFNI is $60,000. If you check in the above table, you can find that it is exceeded by $2000.

Now, we need to get 5% of $2000. After calculating, we get the figure of $100. As we know, the maximum credit for a single person with a qualifying child is $717; here you have to deduct $100 from that, and the result you get is $617—this is the annual amount, and the quarterly payment will be only $154.25.
