Lopez Voice Assistant Settlement
Back in 2019, a class action lawsuit was filed against Apple Inc., alleging that Siri frequently activated without a user’s intent. These false activations caused Siri to record private or confidential conversations and transmit that audio to Apple’s servers.
After years of legal proceedings, the defendant agreed to a $95 million settlement without accepting any wrongdoing. It received the preliminary approval in February 2025, and then the portal was launched to submit claims, opt out, or object to the settlement.
The due date for all these options was July 2, 2025. Individuals who received a notice from the settlement administrator and believed to be eligible for the payout from the settlement have already submitted the claim form, and the final hearing took place on August 22, 2025.
