The Alberta government offers financial assistance to seniors with low incomes through the Alberta Seniors Benefit. The authority has released the 2026 payment schedule for the benefit. You can check the payment schedule, payout, eligibility, and other details here.
The monthly financial assistance ensures that the seniors have the support to cover their living expenses based on the income test. Seniors receiving the Old Age Security pension who live in Alberta can also receive the Alberta Seniors Benefit.
The amount of the Alberta Senior Benefit depends on the previous year’s income, and the seniors with the lowest income can receive the maximum benefit. The payment can be reduced or be partial for seniors with moderate income.
