Under this program, you receive a monthly payment based on your income and the age and number of your children. It is credited directly to your account and is tax-free. To get this payment, you must file your tax return annually.

What’s the payment date?
CCB payments are deposited directly into your bank account on a monthly basis. The payment for October 2025 will be sent out on October 20, 2025, by ensuring the timely assistance for the need of the child.
Note that the payout can be delayed if there will be any error in the banking or tax return details, so it is important that you keep all the information accurate and up-to-date with the CRA to get the timely payment without any delay.
How much will you receive?
The CCB amount depends on your family income and the age of your children. Note that the maximum monthly amount you can get is $666 for a child under 6 years old, and if your child is between 6 and 17 years old, you can get approximately $562 per month.
It gradually decreases if your income is higher. The government increases this payment annually to account for inflation. Therefore, the Canada Revenue Agency determines the exact amount you receive based on your tax return and family situation.
Who are eligible to get the payment?
The CCB is paid to families who are responsible for the care of children and are tax residents in Canada. The person who lives with the children and is primarily responsible for their upbringing is eligible.
You or your spouse (or common-law partner) may be eligible if you or your family are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or have certain immigration statuses. Additionally, annual tax returns are required.
Can I check the payment status?
Yes, you can check the payment status for the Canada Child Benefit (CCB). To do so, you need to log in to your CRA My Account. After logging in, navigate to the section of the benefit and check:

What if I don’t get payment on time?
