The Canada Revenue Agency has many benefits that will be processed in October 2025, some as monthly benefits and some as quarterly benefits. The benefits are there to support vulnerable groups struggling with the rising cost of living and other situations. 

If you’re a Canadian resident, you could receive payments of up to $2600 or more by combining multiple eligible benefits. To estimate your payments, you should first know the benefits whose payouts will be disbursed in October 2025:

Canada Workers Benefit

CRA supports low-income workers through the Refundable Tax Credit, Canada Workers Benefit, to encourage workforce participation and provide financial relief with the increasing cost of living. CRA disbursed the advance (50% of the CWB) payment quarterly to the eligible workers.

Eligibility:

  • You must be working, and your net income is below the threshold set by the province or territory you reside in.
  • You must be a Canadian resident for the year you are applying for, and you must have reached the age of 19 years or above on 31 December. 
  • If you live with a common-law partner, spouse, or child, you may receive the eligible dependent benefit. 
  • You can receive the disability component of the CWB if you have an eligible disability tax credit certificate.

GST/HST Credit

The government offset the goods and services tax/ harmonized sales tax you paid through the GST/HST credit, with quarterly payments to households and individuals earning low or modest incomes.

Eligibility:

  • Age must be 19 years or above, and must be a Canadian resident before CRA makes payment or the beginning of the payment month.
  • If the age is under 19, you can receive the benefit if you have the responsibility of a child, or have or had a common-law partner or spouse.

Canada Child Benefit 

The government supports parents with dependent children with the rising costs through the Canada Child Benefit. 

Eligibility:

  • You must be primarily responsible for the care and upbringing of the child you are claiming benefits for.
  • The child’s age must be under 18, and you are a Canadian resident. 
  • You or your spouse can be a permanent resident/a Canadian citizen/a protected person.

Canada Disability Benefit 

The Canadian government offers support to people suffering from disability and struggling with living expenses through Disability Benefit.

Eligibility:

  • Age between 18 and 64 years, and have disability tax credit approval
  • You are a Canadian resident or permanent resident, protected person, temporary resident who lived for 18 months, or registered under the Indian Act. 
  • You must have filed the 2024 tax year return, and if you have a spouse or common-law partner, they must have also filed the taxes (if applicable).

Payment Amount:

  • $200 a month

Old Age Security

The CRA supports the eligible seniors through the OAS pension in managing their expenses after retirement.

Eligibility:

  • Live in Canada and be 65 years or above, and must be living in the country for at least 10 years from the age of 18 as a legal or Canadian resident.
  • Living outside the country, aged 65 years or above, must have been living for at least 20 years from the age of 18 as a legal or Canadian resident.

Canada Pension Plan

  • The maximum payout at the age of 65 is $1433, but it can vary depending on your age, average earnings, and contributions.
